We undertook a large research project for the Australian Coal Association Research Program to quantify the impacts of longwall mine subsidence on TECs.  We worked at 3 sites: BHP Goonyella, Rio Tinto Coal Kestrel and AngloAmerican Moranbah North to study Brigalow and Blue Grass communities.  A combination of field survey, high resolution satellite image analysis and Lidar analysis was used to look at these communities both on and off subsided areas.  The study found no statistical evidence of negative impacts.

We developed new tools and approaches suitable for industry wide monitoring.
