2rog is supporting the Northern Territory Government get better environmental outcomes during the development and operation of a large industrial precinct adjacent to Darwin Harbour. We are developing the ‘Program’ which is the ‘rule book’ under which future development within the Precinct will be undertaken and working with our collaborators EcOz Consulting to have the Program approved via strategic assessment pathways under the EPBC Act and Territory legislation. The Program is embedded with sustainability principles and sets outcomes and thresholds for avoiding and minimising impacts and enhancing benefits across land, water, sea, air and people factors, taking accounting of an assumed full development scenario. This helps to avoid the ‘death by a thousand cuts’ risks of assessing projects individually and allows resources to be pooled across the Precinct for enhanced environmental and social values monitoring and adaptive management.
