Between 8 and 26 February 2023, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has released over 6 gigalitres of water from on farm storages into the Narran River. This water has now begun arriving at Narran Lakes where it will help to support waterbird breeding conditions. On its way to Narran Lakes, these flows have reconnected parts of the river and replenished important waterhole habitat, providing additional benefits for birds, fish and other native animals.
