Chloe studied a Bachelor of Science, which led her into the environmental and water treatment space, including work focussed on finding solutions to remediate contaminated sites.

At 2rog, Chloe enjoys working in a small team where no two projects are the same. She values the opportunity to continue to explore how changes in environmental systems can impact the living things within them and is particularly interested in work that brings together science, people and culture – including projects such as the Cultural Flows Planning for Cultural Economies Grants.

Chloe sees 2rog as closely aligning with her own values – working in a way that contributes to positive change for the environment. Outside of work, she tries to make conscious choices in her day-to-day life, including recycling, reducing waste, and being mindful of her impact.

Her connection to the environment is strongest when she is outdoors – hiking, walking her two dogs, swimming at the beach or exploring something new. She has a particular soft spot for funky mushrooms and fungi, as well as birds, waterfalls and wild places.

When talking about 2rog, Chloe is quick to rave about the people. She loves working with a team of kind, clever and lovely individuals, and appreciates being surrounded by people who genuinely care about the work that they do.

She also enjoys the variety of projects and research at 2rog, particularly when the work aligns with her values around caring for the environment. For Chloe, the mix of learning, curiosity and problem-solving makes it feel “a bit like being back at uni” — in the best possible way.

Chloe values kindness – both towards people, as you never really know what someone is going through, and the environment, which should be treated as a living thing, not just an inanimate backdrop to human life.

When asked what her name epithet might be, Chloe chose: ‘the Sage of Water and Wildlands’.
